Globally Empowered (GE) was founded by Toria (Tori) Shaw Morawski, LMSW, IICDP, FNAP, with the vision of nurturing resilience and emotional well-being at every level of care—individual (micro), community (meso), and systemic (macro).
Rooted in both personal and professional experience, Tori's work reflects a deep commitment to creating space where people feel seen, supported, and connected.
As a therapist and facilitator, she walks alongside individuals, couples, families, and groups through life transitions. She helps build confidence, self-compassion, and meaningful relationships.
As a heart-centered leader, Tori approaches every client and community with empathy, curiosity, and care. Her work is grounded in belonging, healing, and authenticity.

Tori is a distinguished licensed social worker, sacred space holder, and consultant with over two decades of experience in the global nonprofit sectors spanning the U.S., Africa, the Caribbean, and Europe.
She is dedicated to fostering resilience, nurturing meaningful connections, supporting communities and workplaces, and improved healthcare outcomes through data-driven insights.
An accomplished author and editor, Tori has authored numerous journal articles, book chapters, and blogs posts, and co-edited the 5th edition of the Nursing Informatics: A Health Informatics, Interprofessional and Global Prospective textbook published by Springer Nature.
She was inducted into the National Academies of Practice’s (NAP) Social Work Academy as a Distinguished Fellow for her outstanding interprofessional collaboration advancing global healthcare policy and practice. NAP advises governmental bodies on the U.S. healthcare system.
Tori has led workforce development initiatives supported by the CDC, PEPFAR, U.S. Department of State, European Commission, USAID, and WHO Africa Regional Office.
She co-founded Global Implementation Solutions, a nonprofit supporting One Health programs, biosecurity legislation, and laboratory capacity building in Africa and the Middle East.
As architect and principal administrator of Phase II of the TIGER Initiative at HIMSS, she advanced global efforts to integrate informatics into education, practice, and research.
Tori continues to promote mental health and wellness worldwide—empowering individuals and systems to heal, connect, and thrive.
